Insomniac Events and C3 Concerts Brought Halloween Early to Dallas EDM Fans.

Boo! Dallas, held at South Side Ballroom in Dallas, Texas, brought the Dallas-Fort Worth dance music community together for a night of Future Bass, head banging Dubstep and even the harder styles of EDM.  Kayzo, Louis The Child, and JoyRyde headlined a show full of energy and the future sounds of EDM.  Insomniac Events and C3 Concerts connected once again for what is becoming an annual treat for Dallas-Fort Worth EDM fans.  Earlier this year, the two companies connected on the medieval themed mega festival, Middlelands.

Boo! Dallas! was no different as friends and lovers of dance music came together to work it out and head bang in the capacity crowd of South Side Ballroom.  Prismo, Said The Sky and Big Wild rounded out the solid lineup.  The good vibes and energy were in full effect across the crowd.  The DJ’s took the crowd through the motions of chill future Bass to fast tempo Hardstyle thanks to JoyRyde and Kayzo.  Their sets were totally representative of a Dallas crowd ready to party.

On the stage at South Side Ballroom, home of Gilley’s and many headlining acts,  a gigantic black widow spider sat behind the DJ booth adding to the Bootastic vibe.  The crowd arrived early as Houston favorite, Prismo delivered early.  Said The Sky’s set brought out the good vibes reminiscent of the camping festival vibes.  If you closed your eyes, you could imagine being a field in the springtime with your festival family. Big Wild brought the energy with his live percussion and DJ set.  Seeing someone create live is always a treat.  Mixing and drums live is an amazing thing to see.  You are simply engaged at the work that is going on in front of you.  What makes it even better, is the beautiful music that accompanies the action and art you are witnessing.

In between sets the crowd moved about South Side Ballroom, which covers sq feet. Outside on the balcony you could catch festival family catching up, trading kandi and sharing ideas.  That’s the most amazing thing about EDM events like this.  Total strangers and people from various backgrounds come together for community and their love of music.  This allows new dialogue and ideas to move around the city.  Raving for the win!

[youtube] JoyRyde has been on the EDM DFW radar since his performance at Ultra Music Festival.  Swerve House, JoyRyde’s signature sound is bass heavy and he crosses multiple genres with his musical intellect.  Dallas, which has a vibrant underground hardstyle scene followed along as the set progressed harder and harder.

[youtube] Louis The Child, which has been on the grind with an ACL Weekend Two performance following Boo! Dallas, represented for their hometown of Chicago.  Their Future Bass sounds united the crowd as they swayed their arms back and forth in unison with the duo.  Robby and Freddy moved back and forth from behind the decks to up close and personal with crowd, engaging with their fans.

[youtube] Kayzo took the energy to the next level.  Trap, Bass and Hardstyle that went hand in hand with the crowds energy.  He was ready to take to another level and the crowd obliged.  There was head banging, mosh pits and young people moving all across the dance floor.  All the pent up energy from the week was worked out and Kayzo tapped into that taking the crowd to the next level.  Confetti flew in the air, arms shot up and the crowd screamed .  For a moment in time, DFW had their release and escape through dance music.

Insomniac Events, based in Los Angeles, California, is the creator of Electric Daisy Carnival. C3 Concerts produces the mammoth Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits.
